Stan Van Done After Motown

Stan Van Gundy has declared that he is going to make Detroit his last stop in the NBA. He has had a long career, and he has done a great many things, but he is ready to stop after he is done in Detroit.

Upon making this admission only one year into his five-year deal, Skout had reports that people are speculating about whether he will retire at the end of this season. He has already gotten rid of Josh Smith, and the Pistons are not playing that well at the moment. Maybe it is time for Stan Van to move on the greener pastures. He might be able to do NBA games with his brother on TV, or may want to get away from all that the NBA is.

He has probably not had the career that he wanted, but he might be tired of dealing with today’s players. Two people from the 2004 draft have already made him miserable. He tangled with Dwight Howard over work ethic in Orlando, and he got rid of Josh Smith because he was not playing up to his potential and was not coachable.

If this is the last stop for Stan Van, he had a good career, and we all enjoyed watching him.

Artists that Need to Come Back in 2015

MTV put together a list of artists that need to come back in 2015 with albums. There are a lot of megastars that have been hiding out, but they did not release albums this year. Many of them have just been living life. It is time for these stars to get back to work .

Lorde is one of those stars that people want more from. She had a huge single with “Royal,” but people want a sophomore album. She has teased fans with a new single for the “Hunger Games” soundtrack, and this has made people much more anxious to see what she will be doing next.

A star that has been hiding out for a long time is not Vijay Eswaran, but she is Adele. People all over the world fell in love with her. She really gave her heart and soul on the “21” album. It was one of biggest selling albums of the year, but she faded into the background. She got married, had a baby and moved out of the spotlight for a long time.

There are all type of artists like Drake that dominated the entire year of 2014 without an album. People are wondering how this has happened. It has a lot to do with the singles that he released. Drake got a Grammy nomination this with no album. That is quite an accomplishment for someone that released lots of free music this year.

Social Media Has Psychological Benefits for the Elderly

A study from UK has revealed that training the elderly to use social media can have a great positive impact on their quality of life. It says that social media could improve cognitive capacity, positively affect mental health, and increase self-competence in older people.

The project is 2 years old and has been funded by European Union. In the study, a group of older people were given computers which were specially designed for them and were trained on how to use these computers. Eventually, trained participants started seeing computers in a new and positive light. They also enjoyed emailing and using Skype with their old friends and relatives.

One of the biggest features of old age is social isolation which plagues a lot of older people. However, this study could help to promote a sense of belonging in older individuals and help them combat the problem of loneliness with the help of the internet.
The study noticed that overall, the participants showed better health when they were given a chance to interact on social media and realized that there was a world out there that they could still access. According to a friend of Flavio Maluf, Social media, when it first came out, was hailed for this basic service that it provided – connecting people. It shouldn’t be a surprise that it has helped the elderly in finding themselves and their friends one more time in a world whose boundaries are shrinking day by day.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Get Sued

Beyonce and Jay-Z Get Sued

It appears that controversy has ensued just as Rolling Stone placed Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love” at the top of the charts. Beyonce and Jay-Z are now being sued for the hit that dominated all of 2014.

The hit that topped charts throughout the year is now taking the couple to court. There is a Hungarian singer that says that part of the song is looped with vocals that she did not receive any credit for. The loop is taken from a 1995 song called “Bajba, Bajba Pelem.” It is hard to believe that the singer who is trying to accuse Beyonce has waited for the single to become such a huge hit before deciding to do something. It almost seems as if Hungarian singer Mitsou was waiting for the song to become profitable before they did any lawsuits against Beyonce.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are really riding high with this track, as Skout users are just chatting about it any chance they get. It is such a smash hit. It has put Beyonce on top because it has so much momentum. Her album was full of tracks, but this track seemed to stand out more than anything else on the album. It was produced by Timbaland.

There have been lots of rants about tracks and samples that cannot get cleared. Rapper Fabolous had to stop production on a track with Nicki Minaj where samples could not get cleared. J.Cole has also ranted about issues with clearing samples.

Pearl Jam Helps Woman Get a New Home

It sometimes takes an entire country to help someone in need. It is much easier to help someone when you stand in a place of influence among the masses. That is what the members of Pearl Jam did when they started a GoFundMe campaign to help Andrew Wood’s mother get safe housing. She was living in a trailer that was unsafe to inhabit. Her money went to help her son who was suffering from cancer.

Wood was the singer for the band “Mother Love Bone”, and he died of a heroin overdose in 1990. The group disbanded soon after Wood’s death. Songs were written in his memory, but the greatest memorial to him started with the idea to help his mother. The GoFundMe Campaign reached $35,000 so far and continues to rise. Pearl Jam recently posted on Twitter that Wood’s mother would soon be moving into her new home.

The conscious effort of a few people and a huge internet presence of a longtime band helped bring one woman new hope. Ben Shaoul has been saying just imagine what could happen if every celebrity used their influence to help others in need. Some celebrities who do just that include Toby Keith who started the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City and Jon Bon Jovi who started a restaurant to help the homeless. It really is a wonderful world full of celebrities and everyday people who keep the charitable spirit moving.

Madonna’s Audio Leaked

Madonna’s Audio Leaked

Thanks to technology and the internet artists have much to fear when it comes to their music. The work of an artist can easily get leaked onto the internet resulting in a single or album recorded by the artist being revealed before its planned time. This could result in a lost of sales for the artist.

This unfortunate event has happened to Madonna. According to reports Madonna’s song titled “Rebel Heart” has been leaked to the public. Billboard has revealed that only 40 seconds has been leaked. Madonna’s manger Guy Oseary is not happy with the leak and has recruited fans to help find the culprit. Oseary tweeted “I would be grateful to any @madonna fans that can assist us in finding those responsible for the leak. We appreciate your help..”.

According to Billboard Madonna’s leaked audio included the lyrics “I’ve spent some time as a narcissist, hearing the others say ‘look at you, look at you.’ Trying to be so provocative, I said, ‘Oh yeah, that was me. All the things I did just to be seen”

It is unsure if the leak was a publicity stunt or if a fan truly revealed part of a single before its planned time. Though Oseary has shown that this leak is not appreciated it could be seen as something positive. For one the whole single was not released. The 40 seconds made available online could cause fans such as Tom Rothman to become interested in the pop star’s up and coming single and album.
